Our client, a global healthcare leader, is seeking a Lab Manager on an initial 18month contract to join their R&D team in Galway. As a Lab Manager, you will support novel diagnostic assay development by managing the clinical specimen biosafety laboratory. You will have expertise in clean room/BSL3 lab environment and policy implementation.
Responsibilities (Full job description available on request):
Maintain BSL2 and BSL3 grade lab environment and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Procure, validate, and maintain laboratory equipment, overseeing repairs and service coordination.
Coordinate shipping and receipt of samples/kits in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Implement biobank strategy, including software management and maintenance.
Ensure lab facility is compliant with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations.
Implement and maintain remote monitoring capabilities for critical equipment.
Support staff training and ensure compliance with biosafety procedures.
Ideal background:
5+ years of experience managing a biosafety facility or clean room environment.
Bachelor’s degree in science or a related discipline.
Expert knowledge of laboratory health and safety protocols.
Advanced knowledge of scientific principles, laboratory equipment, and research techniques.
Experience in biobank management is advantageous.
Proficiency in technical writing for lab documentation.
Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships.
