Senior R&D Program Manager - Abbott

We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for a Senior R&D Program Manager within the medical device industry. Key Responsibilities

As a Senior R&D Program Manager, you will:

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of technical projects in the R&D space, ensuring strategic alignment with critical business objectives.

  • Utilise advanced project management tools to oversee New Product Development and Sustaining Engineering projects within authorised budget limits.

  • Drive cross-functional team collaboration, facilitating decision-making to prioritise projects effectively and ensure alignment with organisational goals.

  • Conduct thorough risk assessments, developing and implementing mitigation plans to maintain project schedules and control costs.

  • Champion innovation within the R&D organisation, applying technical knowledge and innovative thinking to advance project goals.

  • Develop and refine project methodologies, including scope, schedule, quality, and cost metrics, to enhance project execution and reporting.

  • Ensure the successful execution of significant technical projects, focusing on life cycle costs and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) with a proven track record in managing R&D projects in the medical device or pharmaceutical sectors.

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in new product development within the medical device engineering sector.

  • At least 5 years of project or program management experience in medical devices, healthcare, or pharmaceutical development environments.

  • Expertise in applying project management tools for both New Product Development and Sustaining Engineering initiatives.

  • Solid understanding of ISO standards, Design Control regulations, and medical device regulations in emerging markets.
