Job Title: Senior R&D Engineer

Location: Galway, Hybrid Role

As we exclusively partner with this promising enterprise, we invite a seasoned Senior R&D Engineer to join their team. This role offers a unique chance to exert a tangible influence on product development and market readiness, driving the company towards approval, acceptance, and expansive growth.

Job Purpose:

As a Senior R&D Engineer, you will take a proactive, hands-on approach in leading product and project initiatives. Collaborating closely with technical and commercial teams, you'll be pivotal in steering product designs from conceptualization to market launch, all within a fast-paced and innovative start-up environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forge and maintain strategic relationships with key clinical advisors.
  • Lead the design of innovative implants and surgical tools based on surgeon insights.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to develop and refine product design specifications for next-generation products.
  • Apply best practices in concurrent engineering to ensure robust product design and manufacturability.
  • Design and validate testing methodologies.
  • Enhance the company’s intellectual property portfolio with innovative patentable concepts.
  • Drive continuous improvement in product quality, customer satisfaction, and manufacturing efficiency through collaborative programs.
  • Ensure all project management adheres to ISO and FDA regulatory standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science, with a Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in product design and development within the medical device sector; orthopaedic experience advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability in leading R&D projects with a comprehensive understanding of regulatory compliance.
  • Proven track record of innovative thinking and problem-solving in a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal teams and external partners.
