Join an innovative start-up in the palliative care sector, focused on developing a groundbreaking catheter-based device. This Senior R&D role is ideal for someone passionate about making a substantial impact on patient quality of life through advanced medical technology.

Responsibilities

As a Senior R&D Engineer based in Galway, you will:

  • Collaborate closely with the R&D Project Lead, applying your engineering knowledge in design, testing, validation, and CAD.

  • Manage and oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely achievement of milestones.

  • Lead innovation within the team, offering guidance, mentorship, and opportunities for growth.

  • Drive problem-solving initiatives, perform advanced data analysis, and deliver comprehensive and actionable reports.

  • Develop and validate test methods, and contribute significantly to project proposals, development plans, and design verification test plans.

  • Oversee product design/development, ensuring adherence to the highest standards of performance and regulatory compliance.

  • Engage with vendors and suppliers regularly, maintaining efficient delivery of services and equipment.

  • Be a pivotal part of our transition from Phase 1 to Phase 3, working in tandem with our Contract Manufacturer.

Requirements

As a Senior R&D Engineer in this start-up, you will need:

  • Honours Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related field.

  • At least 5 years of product development experience in the medical device sector.

  • Technical project leadership and proficiency in CAD (Solidworks), medical device regulations (GMP, QSR, ISO), and MS Office.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in statistical software (Minitab) and FEA Software (Ansys) being a plus.
