Warehouse Supervisor | Night Shift

Our client, a leading transport and logistics company based in Galway, is looking to hire a Nightshift Warehouse Supervisor. This is a permanent position.

You will be responsible for the efficient running of all aspects of the shift, including people management, efficient offloading of freight, detailed discrepancy reporting, route planning, and meeting loading targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overall Responsibility for the activities of the Night Shift team.

  • Organise offloading of inbound trailers in a timely fashion.

  • Ensure that Freight is 100 % checked for discrepancies

  • Providing accurate information for KPIs ( outturn reports) reports and backed up with pictures/ measurements as necessary.

  • Ensure that system adjustments are made to qty’s descriptions where necessary.

  • Monitor and ensure that Economic and Safe loading of vehicles takes place.

  • Ensure that the daily loading target is met.

  • Daily handover to the Transport supervisor / Customer Service Manager.

  • Work with drivers / Transport Supervisor to ensure that loading is sequenced in correct order.

  • Act on items highlighted in daily resources – ensure priority jobs are loaded accordingly.

  • Ensure that the warehouse is kept in a clean and Tidy Manner.

  • Foster an environment where all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with Health and Safety rules.

  • Maintain a high level of security.

  • Work with Senior Management – provide KPI’S as requested.

  • Good knowledge of Computers required (training will be provided).

  • Good Geographical knowledge of West of Ireland is an advantage.

  • Resource planning

The successful candidate will ideally come from a Transport background. Must have excellent man-management skills. An independent strategist/ planner with the ability to direct night operations .

An ability to “think on ones feet“ in a fast-moving environment is a key requisite.
