Job Title: Repair Technician (Electronics)

Location: Longford

We have an excellent opportunity for an Electronics Repair Technician to join our client, a leading electronics company based in Longford, specialising in the repair and refurbishment of printed circuit boards (PCBs), modules, and terminals.

Renowned for their commitment to quality, reliability, and customer satisfaction, they are seeking a permanent repair technician to join their team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor the Return Materials Authorisation (RMA) log daily to track and manage returned customer equipment.
  • Identify, analyse, and report recurring faults or negative trends in returned equipment to management.
  • Assist engineers with technical tasks, experiments, and troubleshooting activities as required.
  • Perform annual Portable Appliance Testing (PAT) on all in-house equipment to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Carry out PAT testing on all terminals prior to customer delivery, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
  • Diagnose and repair electronic and electrical equipment, including power supplies and control/interface boards, using specialist test equipment and rework stations.
  • Carry out preventive maintenance tasks as directed to improve equipment performance and reliability.
  • Set up test apparatus or develop custom test equipment to perform functional and operational testing on modules.
  • Analyse, interpret, and document test results using technical reports, charts, and graphs.
  • Support facility maintenance activities where practical to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001 Quality Management System requirements, following all documented processes and procedures.

Key Requirements

  • Certificate or Diploma qualification in Electronics or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience working in an electronics or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose and repair electronic equipment.
  • Proficiency in using computer packages for documentation, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
