Overview:
We are currently working alongside one of Ireland's leading FMCG companies that count some of the countries most recognisable brands within their portfolio to recruit an Electrical Maintenance Technician to join their team. You will join their site in Cabra in the Northside of Dublin.
The ideal candidate will have experience in both electrical and mechanical systems, particularly in troubleshooting, fault finding, and repair of industrial machinery, including PLC systems and food processing or packing equipment. Must be flexible to work across days and nights with 12 hour shifts.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all electrical wiring and drawings are up-to-date and compliant with current industry practices and codes.
- Implement and manage the preventative maintenance program for all milling and packaging equipment, including pneumatic systems.
- Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repairs to ensure continuous operation of equipment.
- Provide technical support for the site, offering guidance and hands-on troubleshooting when needed.
- Collaborate with equipment suppliers to install, modify, and maintain new machinery.
- Be proactive in detecting faults, deciding whether immediate repair is necessary, and taking action to resolve the issue.
- Mentor and coach team members, helping them develop skills in electro-mechanical systems and troubleshooting.
- Troubleshoot PLC programs and computer networks, in collaboration with the IT department when required.
Qualifications:
- Relevant electrical qualification required – at minimum a Level 6 certificate.
- Proven experience in electro maintenance, including working with PLCs, 3-phase motors, control systems, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience troubleshooting and programming PLCs is essential. Strong computer skills are a must.
- Familiarity with milling, packing, and food processing equipment is an advantage.
- Experience with 24V, 110V, and 220V systems, along with common industrial bearing systems.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills, especially in a FMCG or fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of food industry standards is highly beneficial.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for call-outs and breakdowns.
