We are partnering with Abbott to hire an Industrial Engineer to join their expanding site. Our client's Diabetes Care division is at the forefront of manufacturing cutting-edge products for diabetes management.

Purpose of Role

In this role as an Industrial Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing operational efficiencies and process optimisation across the Diabetes Care division. You will lead strategic industrial engineering initiatives to improve equipment utilisation, material use, and workforce efficiency, directly contributing to the achievement of site goals.

Responsibilities

  • Drive improvements in site operations and processes, aligning with strategic objectives to enhance efficiency and productivity.

  • Lead engineering projects for clean room and equipment expansion, ensuring capacity goals are met.

  • Utilise engineering methodologies to create models and presentations for facility planning, capacity analysis, and expansion recommendations.

  • Analyse manufacturing data to inform strategic decision-making, implementing improvements based on efficiency metrics.

  • Develop and optimise manufacturing methods and tools to improve resource utilisation and reduce waste.

  • Establish and maintain process standards, addressing variances through targeted solutions to enhance system performance.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams on continuous improvement projects, delivering cost savings and operational enhancements.

  • Partner with Systems and Process Engineers to advance dashboard visualisations, supporting manufacturing efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science.

  • 3 years of relevant experience in industrial engineering within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.

  • Proficiency in Lean Sigma tools and understanding of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) measurement.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and influence outcomes within a team environment.

  • Strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
