Are you an innovative Automation Engineer looking for a new challenge? We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to join our industry-leading partner in the healthcare sector, known for its commitment to quality and innovation. Located in Cavan, this role offers the chance to contribute to the production of products, in a facility renowned for its green, clean environment and cutting-edge technology. Comprehensive training will be provided, including third-party training on robotics and Cognex vision systems.

Purpose of the Job:

  • To ensure the seamless operation and maintenance of all plant automation systems.

  • To uphold the highest standards of equipment validation in line with QA procedures.

  • To spearhead continuous improvement initiatives across production lines.

Responsibilities:

As an Automation Engineer, your duties will include:

  • Adherence to and understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all tasks undertaken.

  • Efficient planning and scheduling of work, balancing plant demands with manpower availability.

  • Upholding stringent safety rules and regulations for all employees and contractors.

  • Drive reductions in product costs by enhancing operational efficiencies.

  • Swift identification and rectification of faults within automation systems to prevent recurrence.

  • Management and compliance oversight of plant automation systems including CFR 21/11 adherence.

  • Oversight of Plant Batching System, manufacturing communication network, and Predictive Control System maintenance.

  • Coordination of CAPA investigations impacting engineering processes.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in automation engineering within the medical device, pharmaceutical industry or food industry.

  • Proficiency in Siemens PLCs is essential.

  • Experience with Ignition (SCADA) systems is highly advantageous.
