A new Engineering Manager role has arisen with our Manufacturing client in Galway as they expand their team. This person will be responsible for leading and mentoring the Engineering group and for Continuous Improvement activities in the facility. This is a permanent role which offers a 4 day working week.
This exciting leadership role will execute Continuous Improvement productivity gains while championing an industrial engineering approach. The Engineering Manager will be a key enabler and mentor of Continuous Improvement initiatives not only on the Production Floor but throughout the entire Operations group of EHS, Quality, Production, Supply Chain, Facility
Responsibilities:
- Maintain Test and Manufacturing technical support on the Production Floor including SMT
- Mentor and coach the Engineering Group through regular check-in’s on career gap analysis and Development Plans.
- Focus on machine and test system uptime and efficiencies while owing Tester improvement roadmap
- Project Manage NPI technology transfers into Galway
- Delivery productivity gains and target EHS through innovative automation utilizing CapEx
- Facility management and capital expenditure for both the building and all assets within
Required Experience
- 10 years hands on Industrial Engineering and 3 years people management experience
- Relevant Engineering Degree - ideally with a focus on Industrial Engineering
- Leading and facilitating workshops/improvement activities in a manufacturing environment and delivering savings
- Project Management experience
- Experience in managing/developing people and influencing different levels of management
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Techniques (Value Stream Mapping, One Piece Flow, Setup Reduction, Visual Controls
