Job Opportunity: AutoCAD Technician

We’re looking for a skilled CAD Technician with a solid background in AutoCAD and an interest in 3D design to join a design team in Westmeath. Our client are a family run business and are the biggest manufacturer of off site steel sheds and garages in Ireland.

This role involves working directly on steel-framed building projects, collaborating with engineers and other technicians to deliver high-quality, accurate drawings. If you’re detail-oriented and enjoy working with advanced design tools, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!


Responsibilities:

  • Produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD software.
  • Interpret architectural and structural specifications to design layouts and components.
  • Liaise with engineering teams to ensure structural integrity and compliance with building standards.
  • Revise drawings as required based on feedback from internal teams or external clients.
  • Maintain organized records of all design files and version changes.
  • Assist in updating standard drawing templates and libraries.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D essential; 3D an advantage).
  • Willingness to learn an in-house 3D LGS Frame design program (training provided).
  • Background in construction, architecture, or structural engineering preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects under tight deadlines.
