Overview:
I am exclusively working with a client of mine who are a specialist fire protection, safety and security systems provider established in 1984 and based in Dublin. They design, supply, install, commission and service a wide range of life safety and security technologies for commercial and institutional clients across Ireland and the EU.
They are looking to hire a Service Technician with prior experience in Fire Alarms/Life Safety Systems/Emergency Lighting for their expanding team. This is a great opportunity to join a family-run business with a strong reputation in the industry.
Responsibilities:
- Carry out scheduled inspection, servicing and preventative maintenance of fire alarm systems in accordance to relevant standards and company procedures.
- Service and maintain emergency lighting systems, ensuring compliance with current regulations and accurate functional testing.
- Undertake basic servicing and maintenance of associated systems such as nurse call systems, CCTV, access control and intruder alarms.
- Diagnose system faults efficiently and accurately, identifying root causes and carrying out effective repairs or component replacements to minimise system downtime.
- Accurately complete service reports, certificates, test records and electronic job documentation in a timely manner, ensuring compliance and audit readiness.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with clients on site to tell them the work that has been done.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with customers, acting as a company ambassador and delivering high standards of customer service at all times.
- Participate in the Company’s emergency out-of-hours call-out rota, responding promptly and effectively to emergency service requests.
- Carry out any other reasonable duties commensurate with the role, skills and experience as required by the business.
Requirements:
- Ideally you will hold a qualification in a relevant field – apprenticeship in a relevant field (electrical) or bachelors degree would be highly beneficial.
- Previous work experience in a similar field with experience servicing fire alarms, emergency lighting, life safety systems, CCTV and access control systems would be highly beneficial.
- Knowledge and understanding of IS3218 and other relevant standards.
- A full clean drivers licence required - as this is a field service job.
- Strong communication skills to be in a position to discuss work done with clients.
- Be physically able and have an ability to work at heights.
