The role of HR leadership is transforming. As organisations navigate rapid change, talent challenges and greater strategic expectations, HR leaders need new skills, broader perspectives and stronger professional networks.

To meet this need, IDA Ireland and Enterprise Ireland are launching the ElevateHR Mentor Programme a first-of-its-kind mentoring initiative for HR leaders HR Business Partners and senior HR Generalists working in IDA and Enterprise Ireland multinational and indigenous companies across the West region.

Mentoring is a powerful way to fill experience and knowledge gaps, to bridge the gap between theory and practice, and offer real-world guidance in a supportive, peer-led environment.

HR today holds a true seat at the leadership table, but many HR professionals lack access to senior mentorship, cross-company learning and safe spaces to explore strategic challenges.

ElevateHR aims to fill that gap by:

  • Strengthening the Voice of HR within organisations

  • Bridging the divide between theory and real-world practice

  • Building a strong, connected HR community in the West of Ireland

  • Accelerating leadership capability, confidence and readiness for expanded roles

The 2026 pilot commending in January offers 20 mentee places, with 6 x 90-minute group mentoring sessions (5 mentees per group) and covers themes led by experienced HR mentors to include Developing Talent Strategy, HR Leading Organisation Design, Performance & Development and Moving from Reactive to Proactive HR Leadership. There will also be 1:1 mentor/mentee connects and estimated commitment will be 17 hours over a 9 month period.
