Production Supervisor

New

Our client, a medical device company in Mayo is seeking a Production Supervisor to join their team on a permanent contract. This is a day shift position.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership, coordination, training, and performance management for production operatives and team leaders.
  • Execute the production plan, including scheduling work orders, setting priorities, monitoring progress, and resolving issues.
  • Support the development of the production team through training needs analysis, succession planning, and maintaining accurate training records.
  • Manage supervisory duties including recruitment, onboarding, performance reviews, employee development, recognition, and disciplinary processes.
  • Work closely with production planning to understand weekly priorities, identify risks, and ensure production targets and KPIs are achieved.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, Line Clearance, and GMP requirements.
  • Lead and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
  • Identify operational issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Utilise production systems to manage work orders, lot control, and inventory tracking.
  • Coordinate routine cleaning and maintenance activities within production schedules.
  • Complete administrative tasks such as performance metrics reporting, time and attendance management, and holiday planning.

Qualifications:

  • A Level 7 qualification in Business, Management, Production, Engineering, or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience leading a production team within a manufacturing environment.
  • Cleanroom experience.
  • Demonstrated people management skills, including coaching, mentoring, motivating, and organising teams.
  • Strong problem-solving ability with a proactive approach to continuous improvement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
  • Strong commitment to quality and operational excellence.
  • Proficient computer skills, with the ability to quickly learn production management systems.
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, safety procedures, and operating instructions.
