Operations and Planning Director

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and strategic Operations & Planning Director to join a growing multinational organisation based in Shannon. This is a pivotal senior leadership role overseeing end-to-end operations and supply chain activities, including planning, logistics, vendor management, and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the operational strategy, leading a talented local team, and driving alignment between global and regional business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams across Supply, Planning, and Order Management.
  • Design and implement operations and supply chain strategies that enhance efficiency, scalability, and quality.
  • Oversee demand and supply planning using Anaplan (or similar tools) and manage system integration with Microsoft Great Plains.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Product, and Marketing teams to drive data-led forecasting and decision-making.
  • Manage supplier relationships, 3PL partners, and logistics operations across EMEA.
  • Ensure compliance with Irish, EU, and international trade, customs, and environmental regulations.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives and digital transformation projects to streamline order management, invoicing, and reporting.
  • Define, monitor, and report key operational KPIs including on-time delivery, service levels, cost efficiency, and lead-time reduction.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

You are a results-driven leader with a strategic mindset and a hands-on approach. You excel at building and empowering teams, improving processes, and driving performance in fast-paced, international environments.

Experience & Skills

  • Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Logistics, Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in senior supply chain, logistics, or operations management roles.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain principles, S&OP processes, and demand planning methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with Anaplan (or similar planning platforms) and Microsoft Great Plains.
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Deep understanding of international trade, customs, and regulatory compliance within EMEA.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and strong communication skills across all levels.
  • A collaborative, customer-focused mindset with the ability to drive change and deliver measurable results.
