Warehouse Operative


Our client a leader in electronic assmebly manufacturing are seeking a warehouse operative to join their Galway Team.


4 day week | Day Shift | 6 month contract , permanent thereafter

 

Role Overview

The Warehouse Operative supports colleagues across MSA Galway in maintaining a positive, safe, and efficient work environment while delivering excellence to customers.


Key Responsibilities

Safety & Training

  • Take ownership of personal and team safety within the warehouse.
  • Complete all required training (e.g., warehouse machinery, manual handling).
  • Participate in plant-wide initiatives including 6S, recycling, and internal audits.

Warehouse Operations

  • Receive all materials from external vendors in compliance with internal procedures.
  • Issue raw materials to the production floor daily in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all material movements are accurately recorded in SAP and other inventory systems.
  • Conduct daily cycle counts across all warehouse and manufacturing areas and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and verify all Finished Goods orders for transfer to Shipping.
  • Support production cells by promptly responding to material requirements.

Communication & Collaboration

  • Participate in daily team huddles, providing updates on safety, inventory, and improvement opportunities.
  • Communicate part shortages or issues to the Planning/Purchasing teams as they arise.
  • Support Continuous Improvement (CPI) initiatives across the plant.

Performance & Process Improvement

  • Meet deadlines and support ongoing performance improvements.
  • Actively contribute ideas for process enhancement and workflow improvements.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Leaving Certificate required (3rd level education an advantage).
  • Experience in a warehousing or manufacturing leadership role preferred.
  • Strong coordination, planning, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a hands-on approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience operating warehouse machinery.
  • Manual handling training or awareness.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
