Our client, a multinational pharmaceutical company is seeking a Maintenance Technician to join their team in Sligo on a 12 month contract.
Responsibilities:
- Support daily production targets by maintaining and troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
- Perform preventive and routine maintenance on injection moulding machines, tooling, assembly, and test equipment.
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and process issues to minimise downtime.
- Carry out equipment calibration and maintenance activities in line with company procedures.
- Provide technical support to production teams to ensure schedules are achieved.
- Work with equipment vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement and site maintenance excellence initiatives.
- Support equipment upgrades, commissioning, validation, and improvement projects.
- Ensure all work is documented in line with cGMP and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain maintenance records and work orders using the Maximo maintenance management system.
- Interpret mechanical and electrical drawings to assist with troubleshooting and improvements.
Requirements:
- Leaving Certificate, Senior Trade Certificate, or FETAC Level 6 technical qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- 3+ years’ experience in high-precision manufacturing.
- 2+ years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g. medical device or pharma).
- Experience in mould tooling, electrical systems, or automation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with complex equipment.
- Basic computer skills, including working with computer-interfaced equipment or ERP systems.
