Join a leading manufacturing company as an EHS Manager dedicated to delivering exceptional quality products to their clients within the pharmaceutical industry. This role is to drive strategic and long term developments within the Environmental Health & Safety department. This role will offer you lots of Autonomy and Ownership given that this position reports to the SLT team for the UK & Ireland.
Role:
To drive the development and implement of the Health & Safety Plan to provide an optimum health and safety-working environment.
To actively promote best practice, and ensure and advise on compliance with the required standards.
To update the management team of impending legislative changes for the business, both in H&S and environmental management.
Working closely with the Management Teams the EHS Manager will develop a pro-active Health and Safety culture, ensuring Managers/Supervisors are supported and developed in their Health and Safety activities.
To assist in the development of relevant systems to ensure the investigation of accidents, working with the Insurance Companies and developing the Insurance Protocol to improve the Company’s accident claim record through efficient substantiation of the circumstances.
To ensure Health and Safety activities are carried out and adequately documented and that a through audit process is in place and best practice is shared across all plants
To liaise with Occupational Health advisor in ensuring a pro-active, healthy environment.
To represent the Company on external bodies and working parties. • Advising the management team on aspects of Good Environmental Management/Best Practice.
Ensuring all statutory requirements are met regarding environmental Management , monitoring and waste disposal Compliance to A2 permit
Facilitating projects to advance best environmental practice from a Health and Safety perspective such as development of a system in accordance with ISO 14001 and 18001 and 45001 in sustainability initiatives
To carry out/develop/facilitate appropriate training of line managers and employees on Environmental and H&S issues
Responsibilities:
3rd Level Qualification in relevant discipline.
NEBOSH certified.
3+ years of experience in an EHS management role.
Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly desirable
