Our Cork based client are looking for an ambitious Freight Forwarding Business Development Manager to help drive the companys continuous growth. In this role you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing customer relationships and closing deals with new and existing clients.
This is predominantly a field-based role, with scheduled office days in Cork.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identifying new business opportunities and driving growth with a primary focus on Air/Sea services
- Build and maintain relationships with existing clients to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business
- Ability to progress potential customers into sales
- Develop and implement sales strategies to drive revenue
- Setting manageable weekly visit targets in agreement with Sales Manager
- Work closely with the operations and logistics teams to ensure seamless coordination between sales and service delivery
- Maintain up-to-date records of all sales activities and client interactions using the company’s CRM system
- Maintain a high level of customer service and adhere to the KWE Ireland values
- Conducting market research and analysing metrics on competitors' products, pricing, and market success to identify new opportunities
Skills / Experience:
- 2/3 years of proven experience in sales within the freight forwarding industry
- Strong knowledge of global freight forwarding (Air/Sea)
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent time management skills
- Proven track record in achieving sales targets
- Client account management, building and maintaining strong customer relationships
- A full valid driver’s license is a necessity.
