Our Client is a global leader and manufacturer of injection-molded products for the medical device, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and industrial markets as well as consumer packaging. They are currently expanding their current team to meet customer demand and are seeking an Automation Technician to join their team. This is a permanent position based in Co. Longford. The successful candidate is responsible to assist in the efficient operation of the production area by ensuring automation equipment is in place and running properly.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Understands and troubleshoots complex servo driven systems, vacuum circuits, and machines with the use of a digital multi-meter and machine documentation, mechanical drawings, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.

  • Maintains and improves all existing automation equipment.

  • Assists in production start-ups and changeovers as related to automation equipment. This may include but is not limited to: leveling and squaring automation and robot heads, centering mechanical components, moving automation from one press to another, making stroke adjustments, and changing robot heads and related mechanical components.

  • Responsible for learning how to start automation, modify moving axes points, and make small programming changes on various types of robots and other equipment.

  • Responsible for replacing or repairing mechanical and electrical components.

  • Assists engineering and various departments with implementation and installation of new jobs

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years Experience within a similar role.

  • Ability to learn injection molding equipment, assembly processes, decorating equipment, robots and automation equipment.

  • Must be able to troubleshoot complex servo driven systems, vacuum circuits, and read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics and mechanical drawings

  • Knowledge of PLC controlled machines is preferred.
