Supply Chain and Logistics Manager

Supply Chain & Logistics Manager required for a fast growing pharmaceutical company in Sligo.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage entire Supply Chain process from forecasting and planning through procurement, manufacturing, and delivery to customer.
  • Manage the Supply Chain element of product transfer for new products into their CMO partners.
  • Develop and maintain strategies for the procurement of critical, scarce and expensive Raw Materials.
  • Communicate and coordinate with suppliers and CMO partners to generate and implement production strategies that result in an efficient pipeline of products for customers.
  • Proactively managing issues and situations that may affect supply and demand of various goods and service.
  • Build and maintain local and international buyer and seller relationships.
  • Oversee the daily operations of purchasing and shipping of fragile and temperature-controlled materials.
  • Establish safe, effective and cost efficient storage and distribution methods.
  • Establish ideal inventory holdings, control movements and arrange regular physical check/counts.
  • Ensure effective planning across manufacturing operations, focusing on production capacity at CMO partners and raw material availability.
  • Facilitate and manage overheads in conjunction with Finance.
  • Assess and analyse costs to find ways to minimise expenses and optimise profits.
  • Identifying potential problems and points of friction and working to find solutions in order to maximize efficiency.
  • Communicate openly with colleagues and management regarding forecasting, manufacturing, costs, and delivery.
  • Improve the overall supply chain performance and look for any possible improvements and innovations to the process.

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain and significant experience in a senior Supply Chain role. Candidates with APICS, Lean Six Sigma or PMP accreditation, in addition to the requisite work experience, may also be suitable for this role. A candidate without formal qualifications but with an exceptional record of achievement in a senior Supply Chain role could be considered.
  • Experience of operating in a CMO environment would be a particular advantage.
  • Effective budget and project management skills, with a keen sense of time management.
  • Ability to negotiate with internal and external partners is essential and identify and implement cost saving strategies.
  • Thorough understanding of financial and budgeting processes, including sales margins and costs of goods.
  • Working knowledge of the requirements for international shipping with special emphasis on Customs and Regulatory paperwork in addition to managing shipping routes and budgets
  • Knowledge of ISO Manufacturing Standards would be beneficial.
  • Excellent all round communication skills.
