Our client, a major multinational based in Sligo, are looking to hire a Quality Projects Manager.

The Role:

As the Quality Projects Manager you will provide QA and technical support to Third Party Manufacturers (TPM), TPM Operations, affiliates, and other stakeholders. Manage specific accounts within the international portfolio, identifying and resolving quality issues for TPM products related to design, manufacturing, and product start-ups. Support global nutritional and NPI project teams, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement of audit and metric performance. Oversee the overall quality and safety of manufactured products, and ensure ingredient and packaging supplier approval and compliance at TPMs.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the fulfilment of assigned office, team, and personal goals and objectives.

  • Build and maintain strong long-term relationships, ensuring routine business activities meet agreed targets with assigned TPMs.

  • Collaborate with project management on global nutritional project teams (e.g., New Product Introduction projects, Margin and Profitability Initiatives, and Ingredient/Packaging projects) to identify key quality issues and support product launches in various global markets.

  • Apply QA systems knowledge and problem-solving tools to propose alternative solutions to quality issues.

  • Develop, implement, and enhance quality systems at TPMs to ensure:

    • Compliance with policy and regulations.

    • Initiation and review of quality documentation.

    • Quality and safety of products.

    • Achievement of metrics requirements.

    • Required training for quality systems.

  • Assist in product batch disposition, facilitate investigations, and resolve quality issues in close collaboration with the TPM Operations team.

  • Manage the vendor program at the TPM.

  • Collaborate with suppliers and TPMs to resolve issues.

  • Initiate and facilitate specification reviews/changes as needed. Establish policies, procedures, and systems to ensure vendor program requirements are met.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant science or technical discipline is required.

  • Five to seven years in a nutritional or dairy food manufacturing environment in a quality or operations function.

  • Strong knowledge of food cGMP and nutritional regulations is necessary.

  • Success will depend on good problem-solving abilities and a strong knowledge of nutritional manufacturing controls and quality systems. 

  • Success will depend on leadership's ability to identify and correct quality issues through effective communication and strong interpersonal and presentation skills.

  • Typical issues involve cGMP, formulation, process control and fitness for use criteria.

  • Disposition decisions are based on risk assessment, using strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

  • It is expected that approx. 15% of the time will be spent travelling to international locations.
