Excellent opportunity for a Process Engineering Manager to join a Leader in Nutrition in the Northwest of Ireland. The Process Engineering Manager will oversee projects in food manufacturing using Evaporation and Spray Drying. They are responsible for promptly reporting hazards, coordinating with cross-functional departments, planning work schedules based on plant demand, supervising contractors, and supporting departmental goals—all while ensuring compliance with the company’s global, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Overview of your responsibilities (full job description available on request):
- Manages projects in regulated food manufacturing using Evaporation and Spray Drying.
- Models and explains automated processes to the team.
- Coaches and develops the technical team.
- Ensures new equipment is validated to QA standards.
- Prepares process flows, specs, and operating instructions.
- Monitors key variables (e.g. temp, pressure, viscosity) during production.
- Troubleshoots process/equipment issues cross-functionally.
- Maintains compliance with regulatory standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required for the Role:
- Degree in Food Process Engineering or related field
- 10+ years’ engineering experience
- Dairy/Food Process Engineering background preferred
- Knowledge of spray drying or evaporation a plus
- Experience with thermal dairy processing desirable
- Familiar with powder conveying systems
- Understanding of ATEX environments an advantage
- Strong experience in automated pharma/food manufacturing essential
