Part Qualified Accountant

Part Qualified Accountant required with 3 years plus experience for a Galway based company.  Accounting Technician qualification is an advantage. Hybrid ( 3 days in office).


Reporting to Financial Controller


Responsibilities:

  • Gather and monitor financial data (e.g. sales revenues, costs, liabilities & assets)
  • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets, income statements and cash flows)
  • Perform month-end and year-end close processes
  • Manage tax payments
  • Oversee Bank & Balance Sheet Reconciliations
  • Preparation of audit files & support liaising with auditors
  • Organize internal audits
  • Support the preparation of budgets (for the entire company and by department)
  • Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
  • Conduct detailed risk analyses to assess potential investments
  • Analysis of financial trends
  • Prepare timely VAT/Intrastat returns through ROS
  • General administration & office filing and all other job-related tasks as required
  • Additional duties as assigned by Manager/CFO

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2/3 years experience in over all accounts and IATI qualification an advantage
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices and collection regulations
  • Excellent administration and data entry skills with full knowledge of MS Office Suite and Revenue online procedures
  • Proficiency in Netsuite an advantage but not essential
  • Hands-on experience in operating spreadsheets and accounting software
  • Ability to work as part of a high performing team as well as on your own initiative
