Mechanical Project Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and technically skilled Mechanical Project Engineer to join a well-established and highly reputable provider of building engineering services. Based in Dublin, this role offers a dynamic working environment with exposure to large-scale construction projects across the region.

The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to quality and client satisfaction. This is a key position within a collaborative team, contributing to the full project lifecycle from design through to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of project drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure alignment with industry standards and client expectations. Ensure all works meet quality assurance protocols and pre-agreed benchmarks.
  • Develop and present engineering solutions, including calculations and sketches, for client approval.
  • Review design and IFC (Issued for Construction) documentation to fully understand project scope and priorities. Generate and manage RFIs (Requests for Information) as required.
  • Coordinate and review technical construction drawings and documentation, and oversee the preparation and tracking of technical submittals for client sign-off.
  • Evaluate supplier packages for compliance with project specifications, design intent, and relevant standards.
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to develop and manage procurement schedules.
  • Review preliminary BCAR inspection plans and liaise with the quality team to ensure full compliance and documentation.

Requirements:

  • A Level 7 or 8 degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role or industry environment is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Confident decision-maker, capable of performing under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
