Our client, a growing international organisation, who is based in Athlone, is looking to hire an ambitious, newly qualified accountant to join their finance team in a newly created Management Accountant role. It is a full time permanent position. Hybrid work arrangements available after 6 months, post successful probation.
In this role, you would be responsible for supporting the full accounting cycle, providing insightful financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with internal and external requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journals, reconcile key balance sheet accounts
- Manage accruals, prepayments, and supplier payments
- Conduct month-end performance reviews and variance analysis
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
- Serve as a point of contact for internal and external auditors
- Prepare VAT returns and adhere to group policies
- Maintain supporting schedules and accurate financial records
- Work with large data sets to extract and analyse relevant financial information
Requirements:
- Must be a qualified accountant with at least 2 years post-qualified experience
- Strong accounting skills and knowledge of accounting principles
- Proficient in MS Excel and experienced with ERP/accounting software
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with non-finance teams
