Learning and Organisational Development Specialist

We are hiring a Learning & Organisational Development Specialist to join our clients manufacturing facility in County Mayo, supporting local and European operations. This role is ideal for an experienced L&D professional with manufacturing experience who is passionate about capability building, leadership development, and organisational effectiveness.

This position plays a key role in designing, delivering, and measuring high-impact learning programmes that support manufacturing performance, compliance, employee engagement, and leadership capability.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess learning and organisational development needs across manufacturing, technical, engineering, quality, and support teams
  • Design and deliver Learning & Development strategies aligned with business, operational, and European regional goals
  • Develop and facilitate in-person and virtual training programmes for employees across Europe
  • Deliver manufacturing-focused training, including technical skills, compliance, SOP, and soft skills development
  • Create, manage, and maintain online learning content and courses within the LMS
  • Ensure training materials are engaging, accessible, and aligned with adult learning principles
  • Measure and evaluate training effectiveness using Kirkpatrick’s Model or similar frameworks
  • Lead leadership development programmes for supervisors, managers, and senior leaders
  • Coach high-potential employees and people leaders on performance management, team leadership, and career development
  • Support organisational change initiatives by developing training solutions that drive adoption and engagement
  • Contribute to compliance training and training documentation in line with manufacturing and regulatory requirements
  • Support knowledge management by documenting and standardising processes and transferring tribal knowledge
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, Operations, Quality, and EHS teams
  • Represent Learning & Development on European and global projects

Essential Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ experience in Learning & Development, Organisational Development, or Training
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or regulated environment
  • Strong facilitation skills with experience delivering engaging, results-driven training
  • Experience designing and managing LMS-based learning solutions
  • Strong understanding of adult learning theory, blended learning, and digital learning tools
  • Demonstrated coaching experience with supervisors, managers, and senior leaders
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to diagnose learning needs and design practical, effective solutions
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint)

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in medical device, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food, or life sciences manufacturing
  • CIPD, L&D, Coaching, or Organisational Development certification
  • Experience supporting European or global learning programmes
  • Knowledge of regulated training environments (GMP, ISO, compliance)
