Lead Operator

Are you an experienced manufacturing professional who thrives in a fast-paced, team-driven environment?

An established and innovative manufacturing organisation based in Longford is currently seeking a Lead Operator (4-Cycle Shift) to join their progressive production team.

This key role supports production efficiency, safety, and quality standards across all shifts, ensuring smooth daily operations and effective leadership within a 25-person team.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain safety and housekeeping to the highest standards in line with company GMP, customer, and policy requirements
  • Participate in Health & Safety internal audits and promote a strong safety culture
  • Maintain real-time IQMS system integrity, generating and issuing shift reports to the Shift Manager
  • Input production data into IQMS and create work orders, print labels, and distribute DHR documentation
  • Run and participate in PIT (Performance Improvement Team) meetings
  • Train Operators on the use of IQMS scanners at all workstations
  • Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste materials in accordance with company procedures
  • Verify that the correct materials are used at each workstation and address discrepancies promptly
  • Present finished goods to the warehouse in accordance with GMP and customer standards
  • Ensure seamless shift handovers, providing detailed reports and updates to colleagues and management
  • Identify and report key production or safety issues to the Shift Manager
  • Support staff training needs and liaise with the Shift Manager to implement development plans
  • In the absence of the Shift Manager, assume responsibility for shift supervision and coordination

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Good understanding of plastics manufacturing processes and familiarity with IQMS systems
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across all levels
  • Ability to work independently and use initiative to solve problems and maintain productivity
  • High level of computer literacy, including experience with production reporting systems
  • Proactive in identifying process improvements and maintaining compliance with production and safety standards
  • Previous supervisory experience in a production environment preferred
  • Willingness to work a 4-cycle shift pattern

Salary:

Competitive hourly rate: €17.32 per hour (€37,837.80 per annum)
