An established and innovative manufacturing organisation based in Longford is currently seeking a Lead Operator (4-Cycle Shift) to join their progressive production team.
This key role supports production efficiency, safety, and quality standards across all shifts, ensuring smooth daily operations and effective leadership within a 25-person team.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain safety and housekeeping to the highest standards in line with company GMP, customer, and policy requirements
- Participate in Health & Safety internal audits and promote a strong safety culture
- Maintain real-time IQMS system integrity, generating and issuing shift reports to the Shift Manager
- Input production data into IQMS and create work orders, print labels, and distribute DHR documentation
- Run and participate in PIT (Performance Improvement Team) meetings
- Train Operators on the use of IQMS scanners at all workstations
- Ensure proper segregation and disposal of waste materials in accordance with company procedures
- Verify that the correct materials are used at each workstation and address discrepancies promptly
- Present finished goods to the warehouse in accordance with GMP and customer standards
- Ensure seamless shift handovers, providing detailed reports and updates to colleagues and management
- Identify and report key production or safety issues to the Shift Manager
- Support staff training needs and liaise with the Shift Manager to implement development plans
- In the absence of the Shift Manager, assume responsibility for shift supervision and coordination
Requirements:
- Proven experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
- Good understanding of plastics manufacturing processes and familiarity with IQMS systems
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across all levels
- Ability to work independently and use initiative to solve problems and maintain productivity
- High level of computer literacy, including experience with production reporting systems
- Proactive in identifying process improvements and maintaining compliance with production and safety standards
- Previous supervisory experience in a production environment preferred
- Willingness to work a 4-cycle shift pattern
Salary:
Competitive hourly rate: €17.32 per hour (€37,837.80 per annum)
