An exciting opportunity for an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a leading retailer's distribution centre in Naas County Kildare. You will be responsible for 2 sites in Naas & Mitchelstown Travel to the Mitchelstown site will be also required as needed.
As Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for leading a small team of Health and Safety Specialists and you will be overseeing the implementation of the health and safety strategy across two sites. This position is offered on a 15-month fixed-term contract.
Role Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Senior Health & Safety Manager, you will ensure compliance with health and safety, fire safety, food safety, and trading legislation.
- Lead and manage a team of Health and Safety Specialists operating across two regions.
- Provide strategic direction for the implementation of the company’s health and safety standards across all operational areas.
- Chair and lead health and safety working groups and projects to promote best practices and consistency across the business.
- Oversee the company’s response to enforcement actions or regulatory interventions within the designated regions.
- Conduct thorough investigations into serious accidents and incidents, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the Health and Safety Authority.
- Coordinate ongoing reviews of national documentation to ensure alignment with Irish regulatory requirements.
Role Requirements:
- 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.
- NEBOSH Diploma qualified or holds a similar relevant degree level qualification in H&S or Environmental Health.
- Experience in managing and coaching a team of health and safety professionals.
- Ideally experience within H&S in Retail, Logistics or Food Safety
- Strong understanding of Irish health and safety legislation.
- You have a full and valid driving licence.
