Our client, a multinational manufacturing company based in Cork, is looking for a General Accounting Team Member to join their team on an initial 12-month contract. You will ensure accuracy and the timely processing of all general accounting transactions for the shared service centre.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Accounting & Reporting: Prepare and post general ledger journals, perform monthly US GAAP reporting, review P&L and cost centre accuracy, and manage balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
- Data Analysis & Recharges: Analyse large data sets, manage manual recharges, and prepare quarterly and ad hoc corporate schedules.
- Balance Sheet Ownership: Maintain end-to-end ownership of balance sheet accounts, ensuring accurate reconciliations and ongoing monitoring.
- Audit & Compliance: Lead US GAAP and local statutory audit requirements across EMEA, including GAAP bridges, audit file preparation, and SOX compliance.
- Intercompany & Tax: Manage intercompany balances and agreements, resolve discrepancies promptly, and support US GAAP and local tax requirements.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong partnerships with business unit finance teams, SSC functions, and outsourced providers to deliver high-quality service.
- Performance & Improvement: Contribute to SSC projects, balance sheet reviews, and achievement of service level and performance targets.
Requirements:
- Hold a professional accountancy qualification and be a member of a recognised accountancy body such as ACA, CPA, CIMA or an equivalent body.
- Experienced in US GAAP, statutory accounts, audit, high volume reconciliation, and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Shared service centre exposure or experience in a multinational organisation is desirable.
