Position: Employment Project Resource Worker

Hours: 30 or 37.5 per week

Location: Cork

Contract Term: Until 31/12/2028


This role supports participants who are blind or vision impaired to achieve suitable employment, training, and/or education. The project is funded under the WorkAbility government initiative and focuses on removing barriers to employment and promoting equal opportunities.


Key Responsibilities

Client Support

  • Support participants in gaining employment, training, or education.
  • Develop case management plans and monitor progress.
  • Deliver job readiness training and provide intensive job search support.
  • Work collaboratively with employers to ensure sustainable placements.
  • Take a person-centred approach to achieve participant goals.

Business Development

  • Promote the benefits of employing individuals who are vision impaired.
  • Identify and engage new employer partners.
  • Support awareness campaigns to increase employer participation.
  • Network with industry partners and organisations to expand opportunities.

Person Specification

  • Degree-level qualification in social studies, community work, health/social care, psychology, or related field.
  • Knowledge of national employment policy and rights promotion.
  • Experience working with service users to assess quality in services.
  • Strong communication, report writing, and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and preferably CRM systems.
  • Flexible, creative, resourceful, with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.

Special Conditions:

  • Garda vetting required.
  • Must have access to transport.
  • Eligible to work in Ireland and the EU.
