EMEA Senior Financial Accountant

EMEA Senior Financial Accountant required with 5 years experience preferably in medical device / pharma industry for a Galway based company. Background in shared services an advantage. Hybrid.

Key responsibilities:

  • Complete the financial close process for EMEA entities under US GAAP on a monthly basis
  • Manage the accounts’ receivable function
  • Work with external payroll providers in preparation and processing of monthly payroll
  • Assist with financial audits under both US GAAP and local statutory requirements (IFRS)
  •  Assist with the SOX interim and annual audits
  • Prepare various financial reports and statements in compliance with local statutory and US GAAP requirements
  • Prepare, process, file and reconcile various taxation filings and payments
  • Assist with testing and implementation of upgraded ERP system
  • Assist with the setup of new entities in the region
  • Provide ongoing support to the EMEA Commercial Team (Sales, Marketing, Operations, Clinical, Medical & Quality functions) as required from time to time
  • Assist EMEA Financial Controller in budget, forecast planning and analysis
  • Assist EMEA Financial Controller / EMEA Accounting Manager with other projects and priorities as needed
  • Continuously review financial processes and introduce efficiencies where practical

 

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA).
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience preferably in Medical Device / Pharma industry.
  • Knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including GAAP and IFRS
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations
  • Intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics or similar ERP systems
  • Working knowledge of Concur or similar expense reporting tools
  • Have strong analytical and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with a multi-department team
