Our global pharmaceutical client are seeking an experienced Engineering Director to lead their site engineering function. Reporting to the Site Head, this role is a key member of the senior leadership team and will play a critical part in delivering site strategy, operational excellence and long-term growth.


The Role

You will have full responsibility for engineering across aseptic manufacturing operations, ensuring safe, compliant and high-performing facilities and equipment. The role leads multidisciplinary teams including Process Engineering, Maintenance, Capital Projects, Automation, Utilities, Sustainability, Security and Business Continuity.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead site engineering performance across Safety, Quality, Compliance, Cost and Delivery
  • Partner with senior site leadership to achieve operational and financial objectives
  • Drive equipment reliability and maintenance excellence in a cGMP environment
  • Deliver capital projects and approved investment plans on time and within budget
  • Support new product introductions and capacity expansion
  • Own the site Business Continuity Plan and site-wide automation strategy
  • Lead environmental sustainability and energy management initiatives
  • Ensure contractor, facility and building compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements
  • Build and develop high-performing, engaged engineering teams

Requirements

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (Master’s advantageous)
  • 10+ years’ engineering and/or operations experience in a regulated pharmaceutical or biotech environment
  • Strong background in aseptic manufacturing (biologics, parenterals, drug product or fill-finish)
  • Proven people leadership experience at senior level
  • Excellent knowledge of cGMP, regulatory compliance and capital project delivery
