We are partnering with a leading manufacturing company in Carrick-on-Shannon to recruit a Die/Mould Technician to join their team on a permanent contract.
Role Purpose:
The Die/Mould Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing dies/moulds used in manufacturing processes. This role ensures that dies/moulds are in optimal working condition to support production efficiency, product quality, and equipment longevity. The key customers are manufacturing, planning, customer service and our final customers.

Comply with all company EHS policies, including carrying out any work undertaken, especially trial work safely, following all safety protocols and wearing appropriate PPE.
Maintaining a clean and organised work area.
Ability to repair dies/moulds in-house, to work with external machine shops to complete major repairs and to diagnose die/mould-related issues during production runs.
Collaborate with Shift Managers, Press Operators, Maintenance and Process Engineers to resolve die/mould-related problems.
Recommend design improvements to reduce die/mould wear or failure.
Maintain accurate records of die/mould maintenance and repairs.
Log dies/mould usage, downtime, and repair history in dies/mould maintenance systems.
Communicate status updates to supervisors and production teams as well as communicate with planning, production and quality control on all die/mould-related issues.
Carry out checks on proposed new dies/mould improvement, conduct online and offline trials.
Build, clean and prepare refiner plates for change out as well as monitor refiner plate condition and complete parallel checks.
Analyse samples, customer complaints, competitor and potential supplier samples, and maintain records of testing relating to trials and customers.
Carry out inspections of new dies/moulds and update and develop dies/mould procedures as required.
Work with the Technical team on profile improvement for current or new dies/mould requirements
Work with designated machine shops on dies/mould pairs and upgrades.
Support and assist in the development of new dies/dies/moulds and dies/mould design for new products.
Requirements of the Die/Mould Technician:
Education:
A Level 6 qualification in toolmaking, tool design, tooling setting or related technical area.
Proficient in TIG welding, Etching and spot chroming.
A Kaizen facilitator certification is advantageous.
Experience:
5 Years + experience in a similar position.
Thorough knowledge of machine and toolmaking processes.
Strong mechanical aptitude, a high level of patience and attention to detail.
Manual dexterity and visual awareness for precision work.
Flexibility in work schedule to facilitate production and maintenance schedules.
