This is an exciting opportunity for an Automation Technician to join a leading healthcare organisation in Waterford. You will maintain automation equipment for safe, efficient, and compliant production.

Responsibilities of the Automation Technician:

  • Maintain automation equipment for optimal performance.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.

  • Perform preventative and corrective maintenance with documentation.

  • Implement process improvements (cGMP compliant).

  • Assist with equipment commissioning.

  • Manage spare parts inventory.

  • Cross-train technicians.

  • Travel for equipment support/training.

  • Uphold safety and quality standards (GMP).

Skills required of the Automation Technician:

  • Structured problem-solving.

  • Innovative technical solutions.

  • cGMP and change management adherence.

  • Strong communication.

  • Teamwork.

  • Safety consciousness.

  • MS Office proficiency.

Qualifications desired of the Automation Technician:

  • Level 6-8 HETAC qualification (Manufacturing Tech, Mechanical/Automation/Electrical/Electronics/Mechatronics).

  • Qualified trades personnel with industrial experience are also considered.

  • Automation/robotics experience (high volume).

  • Medical device manufacturing experience (desirable).

  • Experience with pneumatics, electronics, hydraulics, PLCs, servo motors, vision systems, ultrasonic welding, and machining (desirable).

  • FAT, SAT, IOPQ experience (automated assembly).
