The Job:
We are currently working alongside a growing manufacturing company based in Longford to hire 3 Automation Technician's to support the smooth operation of the production area. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing automation equipment to ensure efficient manufacturing processes.
This is a permanent, shift based position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex servo-driven systems, vacuum circuits, and automated machinery using digital multi-meters and technical documentation.
- Maintain and enhance existing automation systems to improve performance and reliability.
- Support production start-ups and changeovers, including tasks such as:
- Aligning and adjusting automation and robotic components
- Transferring equipment between presses
- Modifying stroke settings and replacing robot heads
- Learn and apply basic programming changes to robotic systems and automation equipment.
- Repair or replace mechanical and electrical components as needed.
- Collaborate with engineering and other departments to install and implement new automation solutions.
Requirements:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a willingness to learn injection molding, assembly, decorating, and robotic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic schematics, and mechanical drawings.
- Experience troubleshooting servo systems and vacuum circuits.
- Familiarity with PLC-controlled machinery (preferred).
- Basic computer skills and effective communication abilities.
- Team-oriented with good interpersonal skills.
