Visual Inspection Technician

Our client, a leading biopharmaceutical company, is keen to hire a Visual Inspection Technician to join their growing team in Sligo on an initial 6-month contract with a view to extension. Reporting to the Manufacturing Team Lead, The Visual Inspection Technician will work as a team member to support biologics operation in pharma operations in line with all safety, regulatory and organizational requirements. This is a Weekday Shift involving a mix Day and Evening Shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily production tasks, including visual inspection of final products, in-process testing, and process monitoring.
  • Complete and maintain accurate cGMP-compliant documentation and detailed operational records.
  • Handle materials, including receipt from the warehouse, verification, and transfer to inventory.
  • Diagnose and resolve visual inspection process exceptions and manage waste disposal in line with regulations.
  • Participate in equipment testing, commissioning, and development of batch records and SOPs.
  • Ensure adherence to quality and safety policies, support audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Ideal Background:

  • Leaving Certificate with 1+ year of experience in GMP manufacturing; FDA/HPRA-regulated industry experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GMP standards and regulatory requirements in pharma/biologics.
  • Essential annual visual certification (20/20 vision, no colour blindness); prior visual inspection experience preferred.
  • Experience handling hazardous chemicals and proven problem-solving under pressure.
  • Strong IT skills and ability to collaborate with teams across departments.
  • Commitment to high-quality standards, integrity, and confidentiality of processes.
  • Familiarity with EHS compliance and willingness to train new team members if required.
