We are partnering with a leading medical device company in Galway to recruit a Toolmaker on a permanent contract.
In this role, you'll play a critical role in precision machining, tooling, and automation support. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with cutting-edge CNC machining, EDM wire erosion, and surface grinding technologies while collaborating with a high-performing team in a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
As Toolmaker, you will be required to:
Manufacture precision machined parts using EDM wire erosion, CNC milling, lathes, and surface grinders.
Interpret SolidWorks drawings and technical specifications to fabricate components.
Collaborate with automation engineers and production teams to optimise part design and modifications.
Perform high-precision wiring tasks, ensuring components meet exact specifications.
Conduct quality checks to ensure compliance with GMP and ISO standards.
Prepare parts for anodising and assist in mechanical assembly during machine builds.
Perform daily maintenance on toolroom machinery to ensure optimal performance.
Work closely with designers to validate the fit and function of machined parts.
Requirements:
3-5 years' experience as a Toolmaker in a precision engineering or medical device setting.
Strong expertise in EDM wire erosion and CNC machining.
Proficiency in 3D CAM software (AutoDesk Fusion) and interpreting technical drawings.
Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) standards.
Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Craft & Toolmaking or equivalent qualification.
