Technical Sales Executive – Healthcare Polymers | Ballycoolin /Leinster-Based | Full-Time

Our client, a long-established and highly respected Irish distributor in the polymer industry, is seeking an ambitious Technical Sales Executive to join their growing team. With over 30 years in the sector and a strong presence in the healthcare market for the past 15 years, this role is designed to grow into a senior leadership position within the business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to play a key role in a new joint venture with one of Europe’s largest polymer distributors, focused on the development and distribution of ExxonMobil Specialty Polyolefins and Rotational Moulding Grades across Europe. The successful candidate will manage the Irish healthcare pipeline and contribute to the company’s sustainable polymers strategy, with the potential to expand into international markets.

This is a full-time, permanent role offering strong career progression, international exposure, and a comprehensive package of tools and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers in the healthcare sector.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms across the company’s range of polymer products.
  • Coordinate and attend customer trials, supported by technical teams or suppliers.
  • Develop a working pipeline of opportunities and track progress using CRM systems.
  • Contribute to marketing campaigns and strategic planning for new product introductions.
  • Help organise customer workshops focused on product-specific and sector-specific developments.
  • Prepare monthly sales reports and customer visit documentation for the senior management team.
  • Update and maintain accurate records of sales activities using Salesforce CRM.
  • Present monthly performance updates during team sales meetings.

Requirements:

  • 2–5 years' experience in a technical, engineering, medtech, or polymer-related role (or a strong willingness to learn).
  • Educational background in Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, Medtech, or a related discipline is desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Commercial awareness with the ability to negotiate and close business deals.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and capable of managing a pipeline independently.
  • Willingness to travel to customers throughout Ireland (and potentially Europe).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with Salesforce or similar CRM tools is a plus.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Competitive base salary (negotiable depending on experience)
  • Bonus/commission structure of approx. 10% of base salary, based on sales targets, marketing input, and new product development
  • Company car, phone, laptop, and home office setup provided
  • Company credit card for vouched business expenses
  • Company pension contribution of 7.5% after a 6-month probation period
  • 22 days annual leave, increasing to 24 with service

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time, permanent role
  • Standard hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm
  • Hybrid working - Ballycoolin based
  • Start date: flexible depending on candidate availability
