Supply Chain Specialist required for manufacturing company in Galway. Background in medical device, pharma, or FMCG would be desirable. Onsite role.
Reporting to Supply Chain Manager
Responsibilities:
- Lead MRP execution to align material availability with demand and capacity constraints.
- Analyse MRP signals to manage shortages, inventory risk, and generate purchase/planned orders.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to plan and procure indirect materials and services, balancing availability, cost, and inventory.
- Act as a key contact for order status updates, delivery scheduling, and supplier communication.
- Partner with R&D, Quality, and Operations to ensure supply chain readiness for new product introductions.
- Collaborate with supplier quality and internal stakeholders to monitor performance and resolve supply and quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate supply issues, risks, or changes effectively to cross-functional teams.
- Work within cross-functional teams on ERP and system enhancement initiatives to improve data integrity and planning effectiveness.
- Collaborate cross-functionally on inventory control activities, including cycle counts, material flow optimisation, and audit-ready compliance.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure on-time delivery.
- Track shipments, manage documentation, and work cross-functionally to resolve transit, clearance, and customs exceptions.
- Participate in and support Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement initiatives at site and cross-functional level.
Requirements:
- Third level degree required, preferably in a Supply Chain or Procurement discipline.
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a supply chain role, preferably within MedTech, healthcare manufacturing or pharmaceuticals.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle), including supporting or participating in system implementations or enhancements.
- APICS (CPIM/CSCP) or similar certification.
- Experience working with global suppliers and international logistics.
- Experience applying Lean concepts to supply chain, planning, or logistics processes is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of customs clearance, import/export controls, and international trade compliance.
