Supply Chain Coordinator

The Job:

We are currently working with a medical device manufacturer who's Longford facility is a cornerstone of its European operations, especially in the healthcare and medical manufacturing sectors. They are currently seeking to hire a Supply Chain Coordinator to join their team on an initial 6 month contract with potential opportunities for a permanent position.

You will play a key role in managing procurement activities, maintaining inventory levels, and supporting plant operations. Working with minimal supervision, you’ll source competitive quotes, negotiate pricing, recommend vendors, and ensure timely purchasing of goods and services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Source and evaluate competitive quotes; negotiate pricing and terms
  • Recommend vendor selection based on reliability, cost, and quality
  • Execute purchasing strategies in alignment with Supply Chain Manager
  • Manage non-stock purchases and freight shipments (air/ocean import/export, SAD documentation)
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and secure optimal pricing
  • Purchase materials in line with inventory targets and BOM accuracy
  • Track order status, expedite deliveries, and resolve supply issues
  • Implement and manage cycle counting processes
  • Assist in maintaining optimal inventory levels and stock availability
  • Handle order confirmations, dispatch notes, credit notes, invoices, and shipping documentation
  • Resolve issues related to damaged goods, returns, and invoice discrepancies
  • Maintain strong communication with suppliers and internal departments
  • Ensure compliance with purchasing policies and procedures
  • Monitor and report on purchasing KPIs

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Degree in Business or related field preferred (equivalent experience also considered)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in purchasing, customer service, or inventory management
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
