We are delighted to be supporting a leading multinational Medical Device Client with their search for a Senior R&D Program Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with innovative products. The successful candidate will be based on-site in Galway for a minimum of 4 days per week.


The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to become a cross-functional business leader, responsible for driving decision-making and execution within development projects.

You will be accountable for the product development cycle, building high-performing teams to deliver solutions for commercial release, while fostering collaboration and empowerment across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Drive cross-functional core team and work directly with functional leaders, regional leaders, and extended teams to ensure clear communication of program objectives, deliverables, and timing of key milestones.
  • Lead team members for on-time, on-budget, within scope project completion, while managing stakeholder and business expectations.
  • Manage the product development budget and schedule.
  • Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills as leader of cross-functional teams across all development stages, from scope definition to cost management, schedule development and risk management.
  • Provide regular program updates to the CAS leadership team through program review committee meetings.
  • Mentor team members to ensure engagement and contribution to project success.
  • Champion product development best practices such as Voice of Customer inputs, early risk burn-down, and Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM).
  • Travel requirement: 10-25%.

Key Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience, OR an advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
  •  Advanced degree such as MS or MBA.
  • Medical device industry experience, including new product development, released product management, clinical trials, and regulatory submissions.
  • DRM Blackbelt certification.
  • Experience managing complex cross-department and/or cross-functional project teams.
  • Experience leading collaboratively in a diverse, global, matrixed organization.
