Our client, a multinational medical device manufacturer, is currently looking for a Senior Buyer to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a full-time, on-site position based outside of Waterford City.
Key Responsibilities:
- Procurement of essential raw materials and components to support plant production.
- Monitoring and managing inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Providing accurate forecasts and maintaining effective communication with vendors.
- Executing RFQs and conducting regular competitive benchmarking for cost efficiency.
- Managing supplier performance and driving continuous improvement in reliability, cost, lead time, and inventory reduction.
- Negotiating and implementing supply agreements with key vendors.
- Leading cost-saving and cost-avoidance initiatives while managing supplier evaluation programs.
- Supporting new product introductions, product rationalisation, financial planning, and ensuring compliance with cGMP standards.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in Purchasing and Materials Management or related area.
- Experience in buying at senior level within the Pharma or Med Tech industries.
- MRP experience.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, influence and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in problem-solving and demonstrates financial acumen.
- Direct material experience in cGMP environment would be a distinct advantage.
