We have an exciting opportunity with a prominent asset management company based in Cork City to join their team as a Senior Accounts Assistant. This is a full-time, permanent role that would suit a part-qualified accountant or accounts assistant with experience prepping management accounts. This is a newly created role as the company expands and will be based full-time in their Cork office.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the monthly finance cycle, overseeing invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and payment schedules.
- Prepare monthly management accounts and annual year-end accounts, liaising with auditors on queries.
- Administer standing payments (rent, dividends, profit shares) and monitor bank accounts, providing weekly balance updates to directors.
- Complete VAT and P30 returns bi-monthly, ensuring full compliance with tax and revenue requirements. Maintain up-to-date tax clearance certificates.
- Manage weekly invoicing, supplier payments, and cross-chargers, ensuring correct accounting treatment.
- Produce financial projections as required and uphold a secure, confidential, and well-organised filing system.
- Supervisor and provide support to junior staff, ensuring a high standard of administration in all aspects of the finance function.
- Handle various ad hoc administrative tasks (e.g. licences, tax certs, review dates, payments).
Requirements:
- 5+ years experience in a relevant position, ideally in a role dealing with multiple sets of accounts.
- Experience in a Senior Accounts Assistant or Part-Qualified Accounting role.
- Excellent attention to detail and observation of key deadlines.
- Strong software knowledge – Sage 50, Word/Excel, various banking apps etc.
- Positivity, enthusiasm, confidence, competence and a sense of humour.
