Senior Accounts Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity with a prominent asset management company based in Cork City to join their team as a Senior Accounts Assistant. This is a full-time, permanent role that would suit a part-qualified accountant or accounts assistant with experience prepping management accounts. This is a newly created role as the company expands and will be based full-time in their Cork office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the monthly finance cycle, overseeing invoice processing, bank reconciliations, and payment schedules.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts and annual year-end accounts, liaising with auditors on queries.
  • Administer standing payments (rent, dividends, profit shares) and monitor bank accounts, providing weekly balance updates to directors.
  • Complete VAT and P30 returns bi-monthly, ensuring full compliance with tax and revenue requirements. Maintain up-to-date tax clearance certificates.
  • Manage weekly invoicing, supplier payments, and cross-chargers, ensuring correct accounting treatment.
  • Produce financial projections as required and uphold a secure, confidential, and well-organised filing system.
  • Supervisor and provide support to junior staff, ensuring a high standard of administration in all aspects of the finance function.
  • Handle various ad hoc administrative tasks (e.g. licences, tax certs, review dates, payments).

Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in a relevant position, ideally in a role dealing with multiple sets of accounts.
  • Experience in a Senior Accounts Assistant or Part-Qualified Accounting role.
  • Excellent attention to detail and observation of key deadlines.
  • Strong software knowledge – Sage 50, Word/Excel, various banking apps etc.
  • Positivity, enthusiasm, confidence, competence and a sense of humour.
