We are partnering with a Galway Medical Device client who are looking to hire a Production Supervisor for their evening shift. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and experience in a fast-paced production environment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and support production operators, technicians, and material handlers.
- Oversee daily production to achieve targets for quality, safety, cost, and delivery.
- Troubleshoot issues promptly and make effective decisions to maintain workflow.
- Manage staffing, training, development, performance reviews, and attendance.
- Maintain a positive and motivated team culture.
- Plan and manage production schedules to meet deadlines.
- Monitor KPIs including throughput, yield, and schedule adherence.
- Report downtime, defects, and variances accurately.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards.
- Manage inventory levels and material availability.
- Complete administrative duties such as updating metrics and attendance records.
- Work collaboratively with logistics, engineering, and quality teams.
- Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 3–4 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Level 7 Supervisory Management qualification (desirable).
- Strong leadership, organisational, and planning skills.
- Ability to motivate teams and handle conflict effectively.
- Knowledge of cost control, downtime impact, and inventory management.
- Experience working with KPIs and continuous improvement processes.
- Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Strong communication skills with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Ability to analyse production data and drive improvements in efficiency and quality.
