Production Supervisor - Evening Shift

We are partnering with a Galway Medical Device client who are looking to hire a Production Supervisor for their evening shift. This role is ideal for someone with strong leadership skills and experience in a fast-paced production environment.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and support production operators, technicians, and material handlers.
  • Oversee daily production to achieve targets for quality, safety, cost, and delivery.
  • Troubleshoot issues promptly and make effective decisions to maintain workflow.
  • Manage staffing, training, development, performance reviews, and attendance.
  • Maintain a positive and motivated team culture.
  • Plan and manage production schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Monitor KPIs including throughput, yield, and schedule adherence.
  • Report downtime, defects, and variances accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards.
  • Manage inventory levels and material availability.
  • Complete administrative duties such as updating metrics and attendance records.
  • Work collaboratively with logistics, engineering, and quality teams.
  • Support and lead continuous improvement initiatives.


Requirements

  • 3–4 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Level 7 Supervisory Management qualification (desirable).
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and planning skills.
  • Ability to motivate teams and handle conflict effectively.
  • Knowledge of cost control, downtime impact, and inventory management.
  • Experience working with KPIs and continuous improvement processes.
  • Understanding of Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills with a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to analyse production data and drive improvements in efficiency and quality.
