Process Engineer – Polymer Manufacturing
Location: Cavan
Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent | Contract
Our client is a leading plastics manufacturing company supplying high-quality polymer products to multiple industries. They are currently seeking a Process Engineer to join their manufacturing team in Cavan.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a graduate or experienced engineer to gain hands-on experience in a modern polymer manufacturing environment, working alongside experienced engineers and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support monitoring and optimisation of polymer manufacturing processes
- Assist with process improvements, efficiency projects, and cost-reduction initiatives
- Provide technical support to production teams and help troubleshoot process issues
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Support new product introductions, trials, and equipment commissioning
- Help develop and maintain process documentation and SOPs
- Work closely with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance teams
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline
- Interest in polymer/plastics manufacturing (industry experience or placement beneficial)
- Basic understanding of polymer processing methods such as extrusion or injection moulding
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
