Process Engineer – Polymer Manufacturing

Location: Cavan

Employment Type: Full-time | Permanent | Contract


Our client is a leading plastics manufacturing company supplying high-quality polymer products to multiple industries. They are currently seeking a Process Engineer to join their manufacturing team in Cavan.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a graduate or experienced engineer to gain hands-on experience in a modern polymer manufacturing environment, working alongside experienced engineers and operations teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support monitoring and optimisation of polymer manufacturing processes
  • Assist with process improvements, efficiency projects, and cost-reduction initiatives
  • Provide technical support to production teams and help troubleshoot process issues
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions
  • Support new product introductions, trials, and equipment commissioning
  • Help develop and maintain process documentation and SOPs
  • Work closely with Operations, Quality, and Maintenance teams

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Polymer Engineering, Materials Science, or related discipline
  • Interest in polymer/plastics manufacturing (industry experience or placement beneficial)
  • Basic understanding of polymer processing methods such as extrusion or injection moulding
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
