Payroll Specialist - Hybrid

We are currently seeking a Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong payroll experience who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The role can be offered on a 4-day-per-week basis if preferred. You will play a key role in ensuring that our payroll processes run smoothly and accurately, supporting both salaried employees and hourly-paid temporary agency workers. This is a hybrid role, with a requirement to be onsite in our Sligo office two days per week.

Key Responsibilities:    

  • Process payrolls for salaried staff and temporary agency workers (weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly, and monthly).
  • Handle timesheet and clock card submissions, including adjustments for overtime, bonuses, shift allowances and other variables.
  • Manage payroll administration for temporary employees joining and leaving the business.
  • Process payroll deductions.
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory obligations (PAYE, PRSI, USC, LPT, BIK).
  • Respond to employee and client payroll queries in a professional and timely manner.
  • Perform benefit-in-kind (BIK) calculations and processing.
  • Calculate and report on annual leave.
  • Submit payroll files through online banking platforms.
  • Provide payroll support to Consultants and Managers across the business.
  • Draft and issue employment contracts for temporary agency workers.

Key Requirements:

  • A payroll qualification (e.g. IPASS) or a relevant accounting qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ payroll experience, ideally in a busy or high-volume environment.
  • Strong customer service focus with excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced level required).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A team player who can prioritise, meet deadlines and manage a varied workload.
