The Role
We are currently seeking a Parts / Stores Assistant to join our team on a full-time, permanent basis. This is a hands-on, site-based role suited to someone who is mechanically minded and has a strong understanding of vehicle parts or someone with a strong warehousing background. You will play a key role in supporting workshop operations by ensuring parts are correctly identified, ordered, stored, and issued efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide parts support to mechanics and service staff
- Maintain accurate stock control, inventory records, and pricing
- Receive, check, and store deliveries of parts and materials
- Process parts orders and returns efficiently
- Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers
- Keep the parts store clean, organised, and well managed
- Use parts systems and computerised stock management tools
- Assist with general stores and administrative duties as required
Requirements:
- Mechanically minded with a strong knowledge and understanding of vehicle parts
- Must have previous experience in a similar role in a parts, stores, warehousing or motor trade environment
- Must be highly organised with good attention to detail
- Comfortable using computer systems and parts catalogues
- Able to work independently and as part of a busy workshop team
- Reliable, proactive, and safety-conscious
