Part Qualified Accountant required for with 3 years plus experience in overall finance. Part time role – 3 day week (24 hours) for Sligo educational organisation.
Responsibilities
Full management of the organisation’s Finance function , assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts, financial statements, and year-end reporting -
Maintain fixed asset registers and depreciation schedules.
Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions as needed.
Support month-end and year-end closing procedures.
Collaborate with budget holders to review and manage department-level spending.
Maintenance of Payroll System to include weekly payroll processing, payroll reconciliation, Revenue payroll submissions, travel and Subsistence claims
Full management of the Debtors and Creditors Ledgers to include processing of invoices and weekly creditors payment runs.
Revenue returns to include submission of P-Mod Payroll, VAT, RCT, PSWT, prepare VAT returns and assist with other regulatory filings.
Reconciliation of Bank Accounts, Credit Card and PayPal,
Assist with bank reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and prepayments.
Liaise with Auditors and Department with regards Annual Audit Requirements
Completion of Annual Reports to the Department, including annual and interim budgets, support the preparation and analysis of budgets and forecasts.
Liaise with Director to Project Budgets and analyse variances, perform variance analysis and explain key financial movements to senior stakeholders.
Contribute to process improvements and automation within the finance function.
Assist in developing internal reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
Additional finance ad-hoc duties as required
Requirements:
Part Qualified Accountant i.e. Accounting Technician or a qualification at Level 8 on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) or NARIC Ireland Foreign Qualifications equivalent (minimum 2.2 primary honours degree) in Finance, Accounting or Business.
A minimum of 3-5 years accounts experience in broad finance.
Experience in using finance software.
Experience of financial management, planning and budgeting.
Have requisite knowledge of corporate governance in the public sector.
Experience in liaising with auditors.
Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
