Manufacturing Manager

We are delighted to be partnering with a Galway-based water treatment solutions company as they hire a Manufacturing Manager to support their expansion. This key role ensures efficient production, high-quality output, and a strong culture of continuous improvement. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will design and optimise manufacturing processes, implement SOPs, manage production teams, and drive lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives. This is a fully onsite position.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and improve manufacturing processes for electro-mechanical assemblies to maximise efficiency, quality, and scalability.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for consistent and safe production.
  • Manage and mentor production teams while promoting accountability and ongoing development.
  • Establish and oversee production schedules and staffing plans to meet delivery and quality targets.
  • Lead lean manufacturing and 5S efforts to reduce waste and improve workflow.
  • Work with engineering and quality teams to ensure smooth production and delivery.
  • Oversee equipment, inventory, and material planning to support production needs.
  • Identify and execute opportunities for operational efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations adhere to all health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Play a leading role in scaling up operations, including facility layout planning and recruitment of mechanical and electrical assembly teams.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 7 Degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering field.
  • 5+ years in a manufacturing management role, ideally within electro-mechanical or custom-built industrial equipment environments.
  • Solid practical experience applying lean principles and 5S methodology.
  • Background in metal fabrication is advantageous.
  • Skilled in developing and implementing efficient manufacturing processes and SOPs.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach, and build effective production teams.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Systems Proficiency: Experienced with production planning and resource management tools.
